A hand-picked group of internationally recognised acoustic guitarists from across the globe join forces to weave memorable musical magic. Internationally acclaimed Brisbane acoustic guitarist Michael Fix – recently named as one of Australia’s Top 25 Guitarists of All Time by readers of Guitarist Australia magazine – will be joined by high-energy Italian virtuoso Andrea Valeri and Queensland’s own funky finger-stylist Sarah Koppen for a series of very special concerts.

Andrea Valeri

Defined as the “Prince of the Acoustic guitar”, and a new ambassador of acoustic music, Andrea Valeri – despite his very young age – is now a veteran of many of the biggest stages around the globe. From Australia to New Zealand, from Russia to Canada, from Europe to the African continent, Andrea continues to garner accolades and worldwide success. Andrea began his guitar career at age 10. As a child growing up in Pontedera, Italy, he began by studying classical guitar techniques first, passing through an ‘electric phase’ after that, and finally leading to the acoustic guitar. Aged eighteen Andrea was awarded the title of “Italian musical excellence.” He has already released 6 solo albums. Andrea has shared the stage, toured the world and recorded with many of the six strings masters including: Michael Fix, Adam Rafferty, Fran├žois Sciortino, Tony Cox, Tazenda, Van Larkins, Maneli Jamal, John Doan, Goran Kuzminac Daniele Bazzani, Buck Wolters, Andrew Veivers, Nick Charles, Robbie Long, Vincenzo Zitello, Bryan Rason, Thomas Leeb, Marco Baracchino, Mickey Murphy, Alberto Caltanella, Ciosi, Roberto Dalla Vecchia and many more … Guitarists who have inspired Andrea define him as a “Star of the guitar world.”

Sarah Koppen
26 year old Sarah Koppen is an up and coming fingerstyle guitarist based in Brisbane, Australia. Her unique take on the instrument incorporates percussive fingerstyle, funk and flamenco techniques echoing the work of musicians such as Michael Hedges, Tommy Emmanuel, John Butler and Andy McKee. Sarah began playing at 12 years old, but it wasn’t until she was 15 when she saw Tommy Emmanuel play live that her love for the acoustic guitar was cemented. After moving to Brisbane from her hometown of Innisfail (Far North QLD) in 2010, Sarah quickly gained recognition as a local street artist after her busking performances would draw crowds that often blocked the street. Since coming to Brisbane, she has collaborated with various young artists, instructed guitar lessons at several music schools, and completed studies in audio engineering. Sarah is currently working on her debut EP, which is a culmination of musical experiences, influences, techniques and skills she has acquired through her wonderful journey in music.
