You adored her as The Divine Miss Bette, now Catherine Alcorn returns to tell the story of Fleetwood Mac’s greatest songbird in GO YOUR OWN WAY: The story of Christine McVie. Christine started out as a school teacher, picked up a bass guitar and began to sing the blues. Then she joined Fleetwood Mac and made rock history.
Commissioned by Kate Ceberano for the Adelaide Cabaret Festival, Go Your Own Way is the story of the tempestuous life of one of rock’s most famous songwriters and a celebration of great music.
Always an intriguing figure, Christine McVie’s contrary attitude to global fame, ridiculous wealth, love and loss, personal privacy, songwriting and music is at the heart of her very interesting story. In a career that so far spans four decades, the enigmatic McVie is brought to life in this play-with-music by the award-winning Catherine Alcorn who brings her own magic to some of the most memorable songs of the 20th century including Little Lies, Everywhere, Don’t Stop and Songbird.
